The techniques you use in your marriage to keep it going strong. How do you stay interested in eachother, with perpetual problems (things that you can’t change) and intimacy. Please no religion, we are not religous. At almost 2 years of marriage, in our 30’s, we are facing the time to start having children, and I can’t bear to have children unless I know we know how to work things out. Doesn’t feel that way now. I am a child of divorce and I do not want to put my children thru that. I am currently reading ‘The 7 Principles for Making marriage Work’ He will read it next, and we’ll see…Open Question: If you are HAPPILY married 20 + years, please tell me?
Divorced friend of mine is in her first real relationship since the split. The guy is living with her and paying her rent even though she owns the home. Question is, what do you think about the fact that she tells me that she refuses to tell him she loves him until HE SAYS IT FIRST. This woman is going on 46 or 47! I said to her “What kind of relationship do you have?” She said “Oh I know he loves me, he just won’t say it.” Now she’s talking about having her tubes tied because she doesn’t want to get pregnant. She said her boyfriend won’t have a vasectomy because…get this…he said if something happens to his son, then no one will be left to carry on his name. But he’s fine with HER getting her tubes tied. She doesn’t realize that he’d have to be with someone else to create another child. He’s younger than her but won’t tell her his age.Is this not crazy or what? Just want your opinions! Thanks!Hey I’m not into ‘not letting’ them do anything, it’s just crazy and I wanted to post…thanks!Resolved Question: She won’t tell him she loves him because…?
Okay, this is going to be a bit of a long question and I appreciate whoever reads through and answers. I live in an apartment – my parents are divorced and I receive $600 a month from my father (child support) that I use to pay most of my rent. My mother has co-signed for me twice before, although she is also currently renting (her and my stepfather own two businesses). They decided to let my boyfriend and I move in together, and we found a great apartment. Problem is.. the leasing company will not let my mother co-sign because her name is on another lease (which has never been a problem before). My boyfriend’s father, who has owned the same home for 14 years and makes upwards of $90,000 a year tried to co-sign for us, but they said it wouldn’t work (he also owns his own business)! Is this normal? Are all leasing companies going to turn my co-signers away like this?We HAVE to have a co-signer because in order to rent here (Richmond, VA; not sure if it’s like this everywhere) you must make three times your rent (which we do not; we are both part-time college students).Open Question: Ugh! Renting hell?
